Arabic:
أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ
Transliteration:
Aʿūdhu bi-llāhi mina-sh-Shayṭāni-r-rajīm.
Meaning:
“I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Shayṭān.”
📖 Allah says:
“So when you recite the Qur’an, seek refuge with Allah from Shayṭān, the accursed.”
(Qur’an 16:98)
Arabic:
رَبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ هَمَزَاتِ الشَّيَاطِينِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ رَبِّ أَنْ يَحْضُرُونِ
Transliteration:
Rabbi aʿūdhu bika min hamazāti-sh-shayāṭīn, wa aʿūdhu bika Rabbi an yaḥḍurūn.
Meaning:
“My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the whisperings of the devils. And I seek refuge in You, my Lord, lest they come near me.”
📖 (Surah Al-Mu’minun 23:97-98)
Arabic:
اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ مُحَمَّدٍ، اغْفِرْ لِي ذَنْبِي، وَأَذْهِبْ غَيْظَ قَلْبِي، وَأَعِذْنِي مِنْ مُضِلَّاتِ الْفِتَنِ
Transliteration:
Allāhumma Rabba Muḥammad, ighfir lī dhambī, wa adh-hib ghayẓa qalbī, wa aʿidhnī min muḍillāti-l-fitan.
Meaning:
“O Allah, Lord of Muhammad, forgive my sins, remove the anger from my heart, and protect me from misguiding trials.”
📜 Narrated by Ibn al-Sunnī (456): When ‘Ā’isha (RA) would become angry, the Prophet ﷺ would say this to her and ask her to recite it.
اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي خَطِيئَتِي وَجَهْلِي، وَإِسْرَافِي فِي أَمْرِي، وَمَا أَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ بِهِ مِنِّي
اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي جِدِّي وَهَزْلِي، وَخَطَئِي وَعَمْدِي، وَكُلُّ ذَلِكَ عِندِي
اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي مَا قَدَّمْتُ وَمَا أَخَّرْتُ، وَمَا أَسْرَرْتُ وَمَا أَعْلَنْتُ، وَمَا أَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ بِهِ مِنِّي
أَنْتَ الْمُقَدِّمُ وَأَنْتَ الْمُؤَخِّرُ، وَأَنْتَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌTransliteration:
Allahumma ighfir lī khaṭī’atī wa jahlī, wa isrāfī fī amrī, wa mā anta aʿlamu bihi minnī.
Allahumma ighfir lī jiddī wa hazlī, wa khaṭa’ī wa ʿamdī, wa kullu dhālika ʿindī.
Allahumma ighfir lī mā qaddamtu wa mā akhkhartu, wa mā asrartu wa mā aʿlantu, wa mā anta aʿlamu bihi minnī.
Anta al-muqaddimu wa anta al-mu’akhkhiru, wa anta ʿalā kulli shay’in qadīr.Meaning:
“O Allah, forgive me my errors and my ignorance, and my transgressions in my affairs, and whatever You know better than me.
O Allah, forgive me my seriousness and my joking, my mistakes and my deliberate (sins), and all of that is with me.
O Allah, forgive me what I have done in the past and what I will do in the future, what I have kept hidden and what I have made public, and what You are more knowledgeable of than I.
You are the First and the Last, and You are Able to do all things.”
📜 Narrated by al-Nasā’ī (1305) and authenticated by al-Albānī
📜 The Prophet ﷺ said:
“When one of you gets angry while standing, let him sit down. If the anger goes away, good; if not, let him lie down.”
(Sunan Abi Dawud 4782)
📜 The Prophet ﷺ said:
“The strong person is not the one who can overpower others (physically), but the one who controls himself when angry.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari 6114, Sahih Muslim 2609)
📜 The Prophet ﷺ said:
“If any of you becomes angry, let him remain silent.”
(Musnad Ahmad 21337)
📖 “Who spend [in the cause of Allah] during ease and hardship and who restrain anger and who pardon the people – and Allah loves the doers of good.”
(Surah Āl-ʿImrān 3:134)

اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي مِنَ الصَّابِرِينَ
Transliteration:
Allāhumma-jʿalnī mina-ṣ-ṣābirīn
Meaning:
“O Allah, make me among the patient.”
Arabic:
خُذِ الْعَفْوَ وَأْمُرْ بِالْعُرْفِ وَأَعْرِضْ عَنِ الْجَاهِلِينَ
Transliteration:
Khudh il-ʿafwa wa’mur bil-ʿurfi wa aʿriḍ ʿan al-jāhilīn
Meaning:
“Show forgiveness, enjoin what is good, and turn away from the ignorant.”
📖 (Surah Al-A’raf 7:199)

- Stay Silent – Avoid speaking out of anger.
- Make Wuḍūʾ – Water cools anger.
