🌸 Duʿās for Sadness and Anxiety 🌸

1. Duʿā for Anxiety, Sadness, Laziness, Cowardice, Debt, and Oppression

Arabic:

اللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْهَمِّ وَالْحَزَنِ، وَأَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ، وَأَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْجُبْنِ وَالْبُخْلِ، وَأَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ غَلَبَةِ الدَّيْنِ وَقَهْرِ الرِّجَالِ

Transliteration:

Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bika min al-hammi wa al-ḥazan, wa aʿūdhu bika min al-ʿajzi wa al-kasal, wa aʿūdhu bika min al-jubni wa al-bukhl, wa aʿūdhu bika min ghalabati-d-dayni wa qahri-r-rijāl.

Meaning:

“O Allah, I seek Your protection from anxiety and grief. I seek Your protection from inability and laziness. I seek Your protection from cowardice and miserliness. And I seek Your protection from being overcome by debt and being overpowered by men.”

Context:

Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī (raḍiy Allāhu ʿanhu) narrated:
One day, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the masjid and saw Abū Umāmah (raḍiy Allāhu ʿanhu) sitting during a non-prayer time. Upon asking why, he replied, “Never-ending worries and debts, O Messenger of Allah.”
The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Shall I not teach you words by which, when you say them, Allah will remove your worries and settle your debts?”
He then taught him this duʿā to say every morning and evening.

2. Duʿā for Needing Allah’s Goodness

Arabic:

رَبِّ إِنِّيْ لِمَا أَنْزَلْتَ إِلَيَّ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَقِيرٌ

Transliteration:

Rabbi innī limā anzalta ilayya min khayrin faqīr.

Meaning:

“My Lord, truly I am in dire need of any good which You may send me.”

3. Duʿā for Protection from Shayṭān

Arabic:

رَبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ هَمَزَاتِ الشَّيَاطِينِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ رَبِّ أَنْ يَّحْضُرُونِ

Transliteration:

Rabbi aʿūdhu bika min hamazāti-sh-shayāṭīn, wa aʿūdhu bika Rabbi an yaḥḍurūn.

Meaning:

“My Lord, I seek protection with You from the promptings of the devils; and I seek protection with You, my Lord, from their coming near me.”

4. Duʿā for Protection from Worldly and Eternal Distress

Arabic:

اللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ ضِيْقِ الدُّنْيَا وَضِيْقِ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ

Transliteration:

Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bika min ḍīqi-d-dunyā wa ḍīqi yawmi-l-qiyāmah.

Meaning:

“O Allah, I seek Your protection from the anguish of the world and the anguish of the Day of Judgment.”

Context:

Sharīq al-Hawzānī (raḥimahullāh) narrated:
When Aisha (raḍiy Allāhu ʿanhā) was asked about the duʿā the Prophet ﷺ would begin with upon waking for night prayer (Qiyām al-Layl), she said:
He would praise Allah, glorify Him, seek forgiveness, and then say this duʿā ten times before starting his Ṣalāh.

🌹 Tips:

  • Recite these duʿās morning and evening regularly.
  • Say them with full concentration, trust in Allah, and hope for His mercy.
  • Remember: Relief will surely come, even if it feels delayed. Allah is with the patient ones. ❤️
